Sacred vessels

The Holy Mass represents the heavenly banquet, and the sacred vessels are a necessary part of the celebration. The liturgical vessels are the receptacles and utensils used to hold the consecrated Body and Blood of Jesus Christ. These include the: Chalice (cup used to hold the Blood of Christ during Holy Mass), Paten and Ciborium (contain the consecrated hosts, the Body of Christ), Monstrance and Luna (used to display the consecrated Body of Christ for Eucharistic adoration)
